Lars Blommestein is a Recruitment Consultant at Projob who enjoys putting people at ease. His slight Flemish accent is a remnant of the years he worked as a senior recruiter in Belgium. At Projob, Lars finds the sense of community he values. “Atmosphere and teamwork are the keywords that drive me.”
In the past, Lars wanted to become a profiler for the police – reading people and making them feel at ease is second nature to him. This quality, combined with his analytical skills, makes him well-suited to the role of recruiter. “I enjoy the pursuit of listening to and observing what someone says and wants, and then solving the puzzle of matching the right candidate with the right position.” Within the team, Lars enjoys being a mentor to others. He shares his knowledge and skills but leaves it to others to decide what they do with it, because 'you learn by doing it yourself and making mistakes.'
What few people know about Lars is that, in his younger years, he placed fifth in the Dutch National Ballroom Dancing Championship. He is also a skilled softball player. “I love playing softball with my father. Every Friday evening in the summer, we’re out on the field.” In those moments, and especially when spending time with his family, Lars gets completely carried away by the moment.
