Projob

Projob's got talent!

Let’s be honest here. Monday mornings are not my favorite and I think many of you will agree with me that it’s very tempting to snooze a couple times on Monday mornings. Same thing this past Monday when my alarm went off at 7 AM and I had a Facetime meeting at 8:15 AM. Guess what? I snoozed until 7:50 and then rushed into the shower and sat at my desk at 8:15 on the dot. I guess snoozing and rushing are some of my talents. Let’s talk more about talent!

Talent Management

Stephan Dumas, one of the recruitment consultants at Projob, recently completed a talent management course. After completing his course, Stephan wanted to implement what he learned at Projob and optimally use Projob’s employees’ talents. The first step in this process is figuring out what our talents are. Projob provides talent scans and similar services but since we wanted an outside perspective in figuring out our talents, we decided to work together with TheTrueTalentTeam. Stephan provided everyone with the opportunity to take the Me-Scan and discuss the results. This Monday morning it was my turn to talk to Rowanda Blijenberg (CEO at TTTT) about the results of my Me-Scan. If I’m real honest, I thought it was going to be just another personality test, but I was pleasantly surprised.

Me-Scan Talents

Rowanda and I started going through my results and I immediately recognized myself in the natural talents that she mentioned. I’ll spare you the details of the long list of all my talents ;) but I will discuss one of the talents we talked about. According to the test, I have a strong cultural awareness. After spending six years in the US, living with someone from Curacao, England, France and Russia and being on a tennis team full of international students, I believe this is pretty accurate. It’s good to know what your talents for your career path, but also while you’re already in a job. If you’re working on a group project, you can use your talents to make a big contribution to the results of the project.

Pitfalls

Obviously, I’m not good at everything, even though I would love to think that I am (haha kidding). Rowanda pointed out some pitfalls to optimally use my talents. I have the tendency to put my foot on the gas pedal and just drive as far and fast as I can without looking behind me to see if others can keep up. Same thing here, it’s good to know what tasks you probably don’t want to take on in a project.

At the end of the day, this scan helped me realize that I have the qualities/talents to become a CEO of a firm, something I’m aspiring to be in the future. Self-reflection is a skill most employers and recruiters are looking for and figuring out your talents and pitfalls is a big step in self-reflection/self-awareness.

‘Being self-aware is not the absence of mistakes, but the ability to learn and correct them.’ (Daniel Chidiac)

Everyone at Projob will be using these wonderful pieces of advice and we’ll become even better at what we’re already doing so well.

Are you interested in doing a talent scan, Projob provides these services and our coaches would love to go on this journey with you to figure out what your talents are!
